Some sort of error with the server.
First, try to upload a photo you have previously uploaded. If it works, then maybe the file dimensions are too large with the photos you are upload for the server to process.
If it doesn't work, you will need to contact your hosting company with the error message.

Tim,
Several things have been tried. Nothing has worked.
My son-in-law ask if any uploads had been done since I updated. When I checked...there has not been.
So, this is the first attempt to upload images after purchasing the 1 year update and loading 3.5.3. Any other ideas from your end?

Pretty sure not caused by the update, the forum would be flooded with people not being able to upload.
Have you contacted your hosting company about the error? 501 is a server error and they may have error logs to indicate what is wrong.
