Using Amazon S3 For Just The Full Size/download Images?

My main galleries are generally 1,000 pics+, and I sell them as downloads. Problem is I either need heaps of server space ($$$), or I only upload small images and re-upload the download images when I get a sale (waste of time).
So I'm thinking of setting up an S3 account, but even that can get a bit pricey once you have many large galleries.
So the question.... Is it currently possible (or planned for a future update), that you can set Sytist to only deposit the full size images into S3 (with the thumbnails/previews still hosted locally)? This would allow you to use the S3 Glacier option (1/5th the price of regular S3), with the only downside being a wait of a few minutes to access the downloads.
Alternatively, is there any chance a future update would allow self-hosting of the full-size files, and Sytist can grab them when required (I have a fibre connection coming shortly, so speed would be good enough).

Amazon S3 is really inexpensive. You can try it and see, but it won't cost much.
It is not possible to split the files between the server and S3. If using S3, all the photo files will be moved to S3.
It would not be possible for Sytist to pull them automatically from your computer like that.
