Hi Tim
Having come from using Photocart for many years, in conjunction with Daves uploader, I'm finding the Upload speed via Sytist very slow
I'm guessing when using Daves Uploader and Photocart resizing was done on the PC end not the server? As I have a powerful desktop machine with 64GB ram this was very fast (under 0,6sec per 10mb file)
Having said that my Web Server is a new dedicated server with 8 cores and 8gb ram 1TB SSD storage in the countries fastest Server Centre, but the processing is very slow in comparison to the old way
Are there any plans to change the inbuilt uploader to process the files on the local end?
Or am I missing something and there's a better way already?
Tho old system with Daves Uploader/Photocart was so efficient in comparison, probably around 20 times the processing speed

Dave's upload processed the photos locally then uploaded them via FTP.
Sytist is a HTTP upload which may be slower than FTP. Plus it processed the photos on the sever which is probably slower than processing them on the computer.
The uplink speed of the server is also a factor in the upload speed.
I can't think of anything that could speed up the whole process. The uploading can't process on your computer first.
