Free Shipping To School

Trying to set up a 'ship to school' as only option for school clients.
At checkout, I note that shipping address is still required.
These screenshots show how I have set up.

I note that I can uncheck 'ship to billing address', but still cannot progress to the next page until I fill in the county option in billing address.
Having completed it I am, thankfully. taken to a page which tells me that I am shipping to school.
Not very intuitive for a client?
Advice welcome...

If you still want a shipping address you need to uncheck the option "this option is for pickup" when editing your shipping method and set the price to 0.00.
In Settings -> Shipping, you have UK set to default, but you don't have "ship to" selected. You need to check the ship to checkbox.

Ok. Seems to work now, although I'd rather not see shipping address fields at all.
I have the 'pickup' option ticked in shipping settings

There is not an option for "county". City, State, Country & Postal Code.

Any way of getting rid of shipping address fields?
I'd rather they didn't show up.
Have checked 'pickup' option in shipping settings

The default shipping in your category settings if when creating new galleries. So the gallery you are testing with might not have that shipping group selected if you created it before setting the default shipping group.
Edit your existing gallery and change the shipping group there. Then empty your cart and try again.

I'm another one that always gets addresses from customers even when none is needed. I do occasionally purge their addresses just to assuage my fears of being hacked.
I would much prefer the customer information page to adapt depending on their shipping method. At the moment, the customer details is acquired before the shipping options are even chosen. This should either be the other way around or better to have an adaptable page that changes based on what delivery method they request. We only need it for home delivery, and not give them the option to give it when 'school collection' has been chosen.
With new GDPR rules, the less info we have on customers the better, even if given willingly.

My present workaround is:
1) Make the address fields 'not required' which means they can be left blank, apart from name and email. Place a message on the page reminding users that if they want shipping to home, they should fill in address fields. Offer a button on the next page which selects 'ship to school' or 'ship to home'
If you want to see what this looks like, go here: http://www.classpicks.co.uk/indexnew.php?view=findphotos and type 3 in the 'find my photos' box.
If you keep the address fields as 'required', there is a further problem in that the shipping address must be filled in before continuing (unless I have missed something!) You could have a message on the page that instructs users to complete a shipping address, but select 'school' on the next page.
Be glad of any further advice myself....

I don't know if you have sine changed your set-up Rowan, but I couldn't proceed without an address as it was a required field..
