Public Gallery No Download But Allow Specific Users To Download

I am trying to add a subscription service, which to my knowledge isn't available through this software. As a workaround, I have created some PayPal subscription buttons.

I'd like to have a specific gallery visible to the public, but only allow those that subscribe to be able to download the photos from said gallery.

I don't think that's possible either though.

The only workaround I can think of for that is to create a duplicate gallery that is visible to the public and then only allow access to the other gallery to the clients who have an active subscription.

Hopefully, I'm over thinking this and there's an easier way of doing what I'm trying to do. I've scoured the posts but haven't found a solid answer.

Thanks!
