Hi,
It seems the option to download photos as a .zip file has disappeared after upgrading to 2.8.0. I haven't changed anything else this end so am a bit confused.

I am on the latest version and had a client download as a zip yesterday

Most likely your host made some changes and now the PHP zip functions are not enabled in the PHP configuration.
Download this zip file:
https://www.picturespro.com/sy-misc/sytist-check-requirements.zip
Unzip it and upload the sytist.php file in Design -> Misc. Images & Files. Then click the link to view it and it will show if the zip functions are enabled in PHP or not.

Thank you so much this helped me also. My hosting was configured with the zip in php.
