Processing Speed Limitations

As well as my online website, I also use Sytist at events with a separate offline version. This is working great but I would like to speed the image process up. Will this work faster on a faster machine, ie Faster CPU, more RAM, SSD etc? Or is the speed limited by the software itself? I have the process run set to 30 seconds with a 3 sec rest.

For info, I am running this on an older MacMini, 2010 I think, though now fitted with an SSD. The images sent to the sy-upload folder are in the region of 350kb each and it takes about a minute per 100 images, which may not seem long, but customers are an impatient species. Plus with up to multiple photographers shooting there can be thousands of images per day.

Regards,

Michael

The image processing speed mainly has to do with the speed of the server/computer. So a faster machine would process them faster.

Michael is there any way you can get in touch with me? It appears that we are pretty much in the same field of photography - horse shows. I’m currently working on an off-line sytist setup for onsite events and after reading through a lot of forum posts I think you would have the exact answers I’m looking for. I’m not sure if we are allowed to post our email address here so I will wait for your post reply first.

Thanks!
John
