Hello,

I am seeking guidance on the following. I would like to install/move Sytist as my main website. I currently use Wordpress as my main site with Sytist in a subfolder for my client galleries/store.

Should I create a new test site, then copy the client galleries, etc from the subfolder to the "new" main site on the root folder?

Or do I need to update the current site on the subfolder and then move the entire folder structure to the root folder?

Thanks in advance.

See this page under "Moving a Sytist installation from a sub folder into the root"

Still a bit confused so forgive me. Sytist is currently in a subfolder called "Client". Can I install a new test copy on the root, customize it how I would like, then copy the client portion without losing data that is there? Essentially I want to create a test website with current client data, configurations, price list, etc before I go live with the site on the root folder? Not sure if that makes sense.

Thanks for the quick reply.

That won't work because you will have duplicate entries in the database.

You will need to move the folders and files inside your client folder into the root by dragging them into the root folder through your FTP program and update the sy-config.php file per the instructions in that link above. That will retain all your data, galleries, etc...
