Calendar Entry Notification Without Booking A Service

Greetings,

I can't seem to find a way to simply notify a "People" of a calendar event with having to use a Booking or Service.

What I would like to do is :

- Receive notification from client of date they want to book
- Enter the session date and time in the Sytist Calendar
- Notify my assistant of the new session via Sytist

I added my assistant as a client/People and I associate him with each new appointment, but I do not see a way to automatically notify him via Sytist Calendar of the new date.

Having the client book through my web page through Booking Services is not an option at this time. I will talk to them about it, but then I would have to still do some acrobatics as they are *supposed* to give me 3 Business Days notice for any request. That's for another topic ;)

I understand I can do this from Google Calendar, but the more features/options I have in Sytist, the better, no?

Thanks!

If I understand correctly, you want to add an appointment to the calendar for a client, then notify you assistant of the appointment from the calendar in the Sytist admin? If so, not really a way to do that unless you view your assistance's account in the People section and send them an email from there.

Thanks, Tim...

Yes, that is what I would like to do.

So then I'm a bit confused...

When creating the event/appointment, there's an option to add a person with an existing account.
Once selected, the fields are populated with appropriate information, including their email address.

I guess what I'm asking is why isn't an email generated to that address once the event/appointment is
saved? Or have an option/checkbox in the PERSON section to generate and send an email notifying
the person that they are associated to that appointment/event?

To me, there are too many mouse clicks/navigation to go back to People and generate an email from there, where
I can just as easily add them in Google Calendar as part of the natural flow of adding an appointment/event.
I'd rather keep everything in Sytist's Calendar feature.

So, then I'm not understanding why have fields in the Calendar Event for an existing client when it
already exists in the account record?

Don't get me wrong...I really like Sytist and I recommend it when I can... It's just that I'm an old IT mainframe systems engineer
that doesn't exactly think straight :-)~

Thank you for a great product!

When you add an appointment to the calendar and select a client from existing accounts, that client is assigned to the appointment. You can click their name then when viewing their appointment after it is created to view their account. From there you can email them.

If you create services in a booking calendar section, you can select from existing services and those will have a link to email them a confirmation email and a reminder email which is associated with that service.

But you are wanting to notify someone else ... your assistant. So unless you select your assistant as the person for the appointment you are adding, you will have to notify them separately.
