Egift Card Discount

I am trying to enter discount code to offer for the eGift cards. And whether I enter the flat rate or the discount amount, it does not deduct the amount in the cart after you "redeem" the code. Is there something I am missing or doing wrong?

eGift cards are not discountable.

Is there any way around that? I want to offer to discount if they purchase for holiday gifts.

Currently there isn't a workaround. I am planning on making it where if someone purchases a $50 card, get $60 worth of credit for example. But don't know when that will be.

Kimberly, did you figure something out? I wanted to offer the same thing as a last minute holiday gift flash sale. I was thinking about offering a "bonus" instead of a discount. but I'm not sure how yet. Or, instead of using the egift feature creating a gift card gallery and using the coupons.

No Sonja, I didn't spend too much time on it but I did not figure out a way to do this. :-(

I worked on it today and decided to use the store feature instead of egifts. It will require some manual keeping track of them, but I won't have a lot of these sales anyway. I'm only offering them for a discount until Christmas. You can check it out if you want. http://www.moonbugphotography.com/clients/store/

Are you then manually keying in the eGift Card information so it is sent to the person receiving the gift? Are you emailing them a PDF/JPG certificate they can print and send?

Tim, it would be great if the eGift Card feature created a JPG or PDF dynamically so clients could print them and personally hand them to someone.

I set it to be a downloadable product and then uploaded a gift certificate. I also added an option where the person buying the gift certificate has to enter the name of the person it is for.
