We use the system's automated email sent to the customer after their payment has been processed.
In the email text core, we use the replacement code [ORDER_LINK] = Link to order
Example of result: This code replaces with the following path in the email core - so far so good.
http://photos.oppbrindamour.org/index.php?view=order&myorder=10313
However this link does not shortcut to the order itself, nor does not pre-fill the form with the order number to ease customer's experience. The form field remains blank (see screenshot) - either links yield same result

QUESTION:
1) what is the benefit of use this [ORDER_LINK] if does not yield any benefit?
2) Can you recommend a better way to get customer easier to the download link from his order?

You can't have just a link to an order in the email as a link like http://photos.oppbrindamour.org/index.php?view=order&myorder=10313 could be indexed in search engines. There is a redirect link used when sending invoices that I plan on added to the order emails.
But if the person has just placed the order, they will be viewing the order and can download immediately without having to use the link in the email. Also, if the customer created an account and is logged in, they would be able to view their order with the http://photos.oppbrindamour.org/index.php?view=order&myorder=10313 link.
