#test would be the link for an anchor.

Maybe you don't have anchored text on the landing page.

I created target a link using both "id" and "name" with test but had no luck.
Will have another go.
What style could I use to get the smooth scroll effect as per 'Scroll To Top'?

Thanks

I don't know if you can do a smooth scroll effect to an anchor like scroll to top. If it is possible, it would have to be done with javascript and I don't know it off the top of my head.

I am also trying to add an anchor to a point on a page so I can link to it from another page. The link works for a second then stylist puts a forward slash in front of the #, and then the screen goes blank with text in the top left corner with the message "Unable to find photo"

the anchor is a
and the call is /buy-now#extended

however Sytist changes it to buy-now/#extended

is there a fix for this?

There is no fix for it. # is used to load and navigate photos and why that happens.

I'm glad I found this topic. If the anchor is from a link on the same page, it seems to work, but if you want to go to the anchor from a different page, you get the error. I suppose it's just safer to not use anchors at all.

Is there another way to link to different sections of a page?

Because the photos are loaded with a hashchange, which is the #photo=123456789, the anchors won't work. It will try to load a non existent photo. I don't know of any workarounds.
