Block Mobile Screenshots

block screenshots
by now it is certain that people despite watermarks, reduced resolution photos etc are satisfied with the screenshots taken from the mobile and do not buy the photos.
this thing is absolute priority in solving it. We cannot use a website to sell photos and have no features so as not to have them copied.

now there are many websites that do not allow you to take screenshots (certainly on android) is there any google api somewhere to implement?

There is no way to stop it, and it can be overridden. only way to stop it, is not have a website, only sell packages that include the image(s), make your watermark very big and cover up half the pic or just deal with it.

You can keep beating yourself up over this, but really there is nothing that can be done. people will just use another phone to take a picture of the other phone. I even have had people taking pictures of their pictures of my monitor at events. If they used this on their page it failed. I have seen something like this used in google image searches but yet it can be defeated buy saving as a complete local webpage. It can also be defeated by a screen capture software. So it is useless to do this.

I'm not talking about blocking 100% of screenshots, I know there will always be a way to get them, I mean the average user maybe you can stop it.
many banking sites you can not make screenshots, if they do maybe there is a way.

I would gladly pay for an upgrade in this direction,

Why don't you move away from the shoot and hope for sales to pre-booking clients and only taking pictures of those clients? I'm going more to that model and so are many other people. In the US there is a company called GFCrew that has this model. I personally don't care for the software and charges which is why I have always used Sytist which allows me to book teams/players in advance and still be able to sell action photos per download for some of the schools I shoot for MaxPreps. I have a soccer tournament coming up next weekend and quickly had my first booking with a mom wanting me to shoot 3 games @ $65/game. They get many good pics and I know I'm going to get paid.

With that being said I have a bunch of ideas for updating the booking page to be able to ask for certain things, but I've found a workaround for now but hoping we can get some updates to this!

it is not possible to work with reservations, if you go to a competition with 500-1000-1500 people every week, you cannot manage reservations, you photograph all
I print immediately on the spot with 28 photo viewing stations, the site serves me as support for the next day, but I notice that more and more people go to see the photos (I have many accesses) but they don't buy them, partly because they bought them on site the day before ,but I'm sure you take screenshots.

if there was an app android/ios of sytist (and not a browser) with screenshot blocking like for banking apps, sales would go up a lot

Everyone of us has the same problem, people taking screenshot of the photos on the site, or as Vance said, taking photos of the monitors at the events.
So the only way is to concentrate to the ones that want to buy, and reward them with the pre-sale with a discount and force the others to buy later.
How ? Making the pages on a pay per view base, for instance 10€ (not refundable) that will be discounted on the order, and if they do not buy we have anyway 10€ in our pockets.(This is why I said we have to force them to buy).
Maybe someone will get upset about that but we shouldn't really care of such people, we have been too kind with customers for too much time.
This is how I'm going to manage the next season.

Marco, i do like that idea, but still inherent problems with that. People will go the ends of the earth not to pay a dime, they will just let them use an account that has paid the money to view. That's why i just watermark the heck out of the images. And still that does not work. It is something i have come to terms with and have let it go. Or the other way is sell them a prepaid package that includes small downloads.

we certainly know that in smartphone apps there is the possibility to block screenshots , which is not feasible via browser.

the solution then is to make the sytist app :)
the app should provide these options
- you don't see the watermarks or you can select a different smaller one
- the image is displayed in higher resolution than the browser
this could be included in the concept of PREMIUM customer, who is given the possibility by paying an X $  to see the photos without watermark A higher quality so as to make a better choice, and the X $ will be deducted during checkout

there would always be the possibility to watch for free through the browser with low quality resolution and large watermarks

this would be a nice upgrade :)
