I received your emails about how unhappy you are about having to update and not having enough time. I am not going to reply to them since now you have updated and of course having more problems.

The second post here on the forum is this and most likely your issue:
https://www.picturespro.com/support-forum/sytist/?t=53569-error-after-updating-to-sytist-41-cant-create-customer-account-error-message

You may have to have your PHP version updated to PHP 7.4.

okay, upgraded to 7.0 and it fixed my ecommerce issue and i can make coupons, but it brought down my regular site with a critical error. so yah... replace one issue with a bigger one....

can you tell me specifically which PHP extensions Sytist needs? as my host has to now figure out how to fix this.

Doug Sytist will not effect another directory, seems you are running both in the same directory, that does not work.

There are many things in the Sytist 4.1 update that made it not compatible with PHP 5 because of its compatibility with PHP 8. There is not a specific extension.

You could possibly move your Sytist into a sub domain and have the PHP for that sub domain a different version that your main site.

If you do, you will need to edit the sy-config.php file that is in your Sytist folder and remove this line:

$setup['temp_url_folder'] = "/folder-name";

You may want to have your host assist you with that.

turns out my wordpress template will only work with 5.6 so when i updated it to 7.0 it brought down the site.

I am not a network guy, so this type of thing is all new to me. - This is why i never updated Sytist before - I didn't want to risk breaking anything. But a forced update with literally no notice, meant no choice, and my biggest fears come true - everything breaks.

if we would have had more notice, then i could have arranged for a professional to do the conversion for me. now it is a matter of trying to fix things without knowing how as i leave for vacation in less than a day. FML

wordpress is up to date as is all the addons, but the site template is not - the template i use is no longer supported by the developer, and when i tried to switch to a newer template, it broke the website. That template won't work with anything past 5.6

I had a plan to update the template, but i simply hadn't got around to it, as it was working as intended.

My issue was 3 days notice for Square, when i am leaving on vacation in less than 18 hours now. I was forced to either
1) shut down my ecommerce site for 3 weeks while i was gone - since i use square. but i have clients using it, so that was a no go
or
2) upgrade on my own, as i didnt have time to contract someone to do it

I choose 2, which was went the PHP issue cropped up.

If we were given reasonable notice if the square change - even 30 days, I would have had time to get a professional to make the changes.

Your issue is with your WordPress template developer, who has not made their software compatible with PHP 7 leaving your website very insecure since Dec 31 2018 and therefore vulnerable, plus your blinkered 'don't fix it' attitude by happily using out of date abandonware for your site.

Sorry, don't mean to be harsh.

I would probably have PayPal as a backup payment method if I were you.
