Hello there,
I am using the passcode function the first time and hit a road block.
At the moment I have all photos sorted in sub galleries for each child and another for the group photos. The plural is important here as I want the parents to be able to select the group photo on which their child looks best and it's not possible to select one where everyone is looking great.
I have seen that there is an official "workaround" for siblings to create sub galleries and make it so that parents are unable to pick photos of different galleries to a collection.
Now passcode is working great via filename or via passcode set in the Sytist software via the option provided. But even if I don't set any password to the group photo(s) it won't show up. It will only show up if it is in the same folder as the single portraits which somehow negates the option to use sub galleries for the children.
So is there an official workaround?

There is no need to put students in individual sub galleries when using the passcode photos.
But you can make classes sub galleries, and upload all the photos from a class into one sub folder. Then you can upload the class photos into the same sub gallery and not assign a password to them.
So when someone from Class A views their photos, they will see the class photos in that sub gallery as well.

Understood but what about the problem with siblings and collections? Is that not mutually exclusive?

If you have each class in separate sub galleries then I don't think you will have siblings in the same class / sub gallery (unless they are twins).
And there is an option in the collections " Do not allow adding photos to this collection from different galleries or sub-galleries".
So the parent would not be able to add photos from different classes.
