Hi there -

I changed hosting services.

Now, when I hit the link, I receive this error message:

Unable to connect to the databaseAccess denied for user 'everafte_sytist'@'localhost' (using password: YES)’

Can you help me understand what needs to happen to correct this?

Thanks,

Mindy

Looks like you have not set up your new database, you need to do that first. https://www.picturespro.com/sytist-manual/installation/creating-a-mysql-database-in-cpanel/

I migrated my hosting account -

So there WAS a database under the other hosting account -

Is there somewhere I can look for the database that was there under the old hosting account?

I am hoping it is there, but just not connected somehow -

I appreciate your help!

Thanks,

Mindy

You will not be able to connect to the old database on your other host. And Once you close your account on the other host all data is lost. Did your new host migrate for you?

Yes, they did migrate the hosting account.

make sure they migrated the database, and have them or you change the password for the database, that did not migrate only the data.

How can I confirm that they migrated the databases?

I DO show six databases so I am hoping it is there?

Thank you for helping me,

Mindy

You are welcome, Login to your hosting account, and in the c-panel you will see "MySql databases" look for your database name 'everafte_sytist', scroll down until you see it listed under current users, there you will be able to change the password. But at this time might be a good idea to get Tim in on this and get your login info and help you out with this part. but you need to change i think both the password of the database and then match that password in sytist.

Ok, there is still a sytist database that they did not bring over - so annoying

I don't know how to export it though - suggestions?

I can download it I think through FTP but I am not sure WHERE the databases are located - can you help?

This is the part I need help with -

"You will need to export your database and import it into your new host (your database is not located where your files and folders are) then update the sy-config.php file with the new database settings. Here are instructions on how to do this."

How do I export the database?

I first need to understand WHERE they are and I can't seem to find anything that says that -

Vance, thank you for helping me - somehow I had missed the instructions on how to export/import -- thank you for posting them. When I looked closer the instructions were all there and I was able to follow them and everything is working now - THANK YOU SO MUCH for help me. I REALLY appreciate it!

Mindy you can find the databases in "MySQL" in your control panel of your old host. Or call the people that transferred the site and tell them they missed a database and have them fix it. That's all i can do for you.
