New Paypal Feature Charging Customers Twice.

2 of my customers using the new paypal feature were charged twice for one purchase. Wasn't sure if anyone is experiencing this or not. I enabled the business paypal option instead until I can figure out why they are being charged twice.

Before the last update, a few customers said that during the final process of using the new paypal feature the window would hang for as long as 15 minutes before finalizing payment. Some would just close the window resulting in a payment but no order created. In those instances, I would manual create the order from the backend.

For now I will continue to use the business paypal option until we can figure this out.

Actually this happened after all the updates. Prior to 3.9.4 the final processing was hanging for some customers. Now it randomly charges some customers twice. Not sure what they may be doing that would cause this but for now I will use the business option for Paypal.

i have had other retailers appear to charge me twice, but once paypal finalizes everything one of the charges falls off. Thanks for the heads up, i too will wait awhile before switching to the new one again.

I don't know how PayPal would allow identical charges happen at the same time. Are there 2 transactions in your PayPal account? Are there 2 orders?

Yep it happens sometimes, it's not actually charging them twice, I think it is a time out issue (heavy internet usage/peak time/poor connection). But one of the charges falls off when they reconcile the days transactions. Nothing you can do to prevent that from happening.

There was only one order in sytist and 2 separate transactions in Paypal. Both transaction have different transaction numbers but same dollar amount. This happened twice to 2 different customers. I refunded both for the 2nd transaction.

Do you know if they were paypal payments or paid with credit card?

You will have to look in your PayPal account because for some unknown reason PayPal doesn't return the funding source used (along with a lot of other issue which now I regret adding this option)

I can only assume they were paypal balance payments because I also have stripe for the credit card option. But there's no way to tell from the payal statements. It does not give funding source on the statement.

Did you disable the credit card option in the PayPal checkout settings in your Sytist admin? If not then it could be either Paypal or credit card. If so then we know it was just PayPal.

I only disabled the pay later. The credit card option is available.

I would really need to know which was used to do any sort of troubleshooting. And actually I think the issue is going to be on the PayPal end because they are in the PayPal window when making the actual payment.
