I've got huge 3gb folders for multiple years of sy-photos. For some reason, I thought when I deleted site content galleries, it would remove everything related to that gallery from my system.
But I was alerted by my webhost that I'm over my limit in website size today. When I looked, it's coming from the sy-photos folder. Each year is taking up lots of space.
I don't archive any of my client galleries and only have 8 current galleries.
So, how do I deal with this?

Mark, one way around this is to use AWS S3. This will move your photos off of your local server, but still accessible to customers without paying to cost of upgrading your host storage and AWS is super low cost.
Hope this was helpful,

If you have in fact delete the old galleries AND selected to delete all the photos in those galleries as well, you shouldn't have any photos left on the server unless there is some sort of permission issue with those folders.
If you are sure those galleries from those years have been delete, it should be safe to delete those folders.
You can also look in the all photos section and sort by date uploaded to see if you might have some photos in the system that were not deleted with the galleries.
