I've just had a request to refund an order and on checking the square dashboard, the order no from Sytist wasn't showing - it had made up it's own random receipt ID. Luckily it was the only transaction on that date - is this correct or I have I mis-configured something

The order number is not created until the payment is complete so there is no order number to pass. You can look at the order in your Sytist admin and it will give you a reference number.

Hi Paul,
We have that issue as well and we get multiple orders a day through Sytist as well as on site at our shoots. The Transaction ID number on the Order in Sytist cannot be searched up in Square (so far as I have found). What we do is match the date, time, final amount and type of card in Sytist to the same in Square. It is very rare that all of those things would overlap. The easiest and fastest way to find a transaction in Square is to ask the client to confirm the last 4 digits of whatever card they used for payment and you search up the transaction in Square that way.
Unfortunately the receipt number in Square does not match to anything on the order in Sytist.
