Automatically Upload Files To Gallery Via Ftp

Hi,

With all the stuff that's happening we're trying to offer our customer instant printing services that we normally offer in the shop.

I'm trying to make it so that customers can upload images to a public cloud folder which has a place on my hard drive, then get the images from that folder in to a gallery.

I've got everything in place for it to work following the ftp upload steps, but I was wondering if it's possible to automate the process so that anytime the cloud folder gets new images uploaded on my drive they are automatically uploaded to the designated gallery.

I'm using Filezilla for my FTP upload, I'm relatively new to using it but wasn't sure if there is any code or processes that can automate it for me.

Thanks,
Dan

The watch folder Shawn posted is an option, but it probably won't be as automatic as you like.

Hi Shawn,

Thanks for the link but Tim's right it's not quite what I was hoping for, that still requires me to place the images from the folder on my computer in to the watch folder. It's definitely a good step towards getting it done, but it still needs automated to get it from my drive to the server.

The problem with this is once the file is processed out of the destination folder the watch folder on your computer will see it's not there and upload it over and over..... I'm having the same problem.
Any thoughts on how to fix this problem Tim?

Doesn't have to mirror.

You can one way transfer.

I don't think that works... It'll still look on the server end to see if the file is there, and the issue is AFTER Sytist processes the file, it is moved to a new folder, which means the file would be uploaded again from your local folder. Do you know a way you can move or delete the local file once it has been uploaded?

Tim,

Is there any way to upload directly to the gallery folder like we used to be able to do in PhotoCart?
