View detailed information about this update in the changelog here.

A few of the new features in this update include:

Custom Order Confirmation Emails
Have custom order email confirmations on a per gallery basis (also store products & registries) that the customer receives when they purchase from a gallery instead of the default one. Learn more.

Admin Created Accounts Welcome Email & Password
When you create an account for a customer in the admin, you can now have the customer create their own password (instead of setting one for them) within a welcome email and also set where to send them once they create their password. Learn more.

Email Confirmation For New Accounts
Require customers confirm/activate their account by email when they create an account. Option in Settings -> Account Requirements.  Learn more.

Log In or Create an Account
Now when someone views a gallery or section that requires them to be logged into an account to view,  instead of showing the login form and link to create an account, it will give them to options/buttons to log in or create an account.

Make Payment Of Any Amount
The option to have customers come to the website and make a payment of any amount. Learn more.

And much more. View the change log here.

How to update:
The first time each day you log into the admin it will check for the update. If you have already logged into your admin today, then you won't get the notice until tomorrow.

If you are currently using Sytist version 1.0.0 or higher, you can have it check for the update again by clicking on Settings in the main menu. Then scroll down and below the left menu, click MySQL query. Copy the following line of code, paste it in the query box and click run.

UPDATE ms_history SET upgrade_check='';

Then return to your admin home page.

If the auto update feature won't work for you for some reason, you will have to manually update.

When using the auto-update from the admin and it seems to hang when trying to unzip, then the ZIP functions are probably not enabled in the PHP on your hosting. If it used to work then your host probably changed something to cause the ZIP functions in PHP to go away. You can contact your hosting company and ask them to enable the ZIP functions in PHP.

Hey Tim,
Thanks for this. Is there a good way to update without loosing any of the custom HTML that I have added? Thanks

Hello,

For some reason, my update is not showing up on my admin site like it usually does. I've cleared my cache, cookies and everything else I could think of, but still no luck. Any help would be appreciated, Tim.

Joey, unless you modified the working PHP files in Sytist, updating will not lose any data or customizations.

Lori, maybe you access your admin before the update was released this morning around 4:AM CST. If so, see the original post under how to update.

Hi Tim,

I actually thought of that too, but I didn't log in until about 6AM CST. This is the only way I know how to update my site, I don't have the first clue how Manually Update my Sytist site.

After reading the Manually Update instructions I cannot even complete the first step because is says for me to log into my PicturesPro.com account to view my order, but when I log into my account there is no record of my order for my full/entire Sytist site, just a transaction for (1) month that I purchased shortly before I purchased the full/entire Sytist site.

Any other suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Did you try this part?

The first time each day you log into the admin it will check for the update. If you have already logged into your admin today, then you won't get the notice until tomorrow.

If you are currently using Sytist version 1.0.0 or higher, you can have it check for the update again by clicking on Settings in the main menu. Then scroll down and below the left menu, click MySQL query. Copy the following line of code, paste it in the query box and click run.

UPDATE ms_history SET upgrade_check='';

Then return to your admin home page.

If so, see this page under "I don't see an update notice on my Sytist admin homepage. ".

Hi Tim,

Great news with this new functionality. I needed to give many explanations each time, it will make it much easier.

As you are in the client login system, there is one function that has been requested long time ago, being able to categorize customer by event name, it would make it much easier to retrieve them.
A column that would be added and could be selectable, like the “company name” or the “event name”

Would help a lot!
Thanks, Best, Lionel

Tim,
I can't login even when I change my password. I want to run the update but I can't get to the page where I can. I need to post a gallery asap, so any help would be hugely appreciated! Thank you!

When you try to log in and it just seems to refresh the page ... not saying the password is incorrect, that means you are probably out of space on your hosting account. No space to create the session file.

You can check in your hosting control panel with your host on your available space. If you are out, you will need to delete some old content from the file manager in your hosting control panel or have your host add some more space to your account. If you see large error logs in your file manager (error_log, errors.txt), you can delete those to free up some space.

Thanks Tim, So I don't really want any more space, I'd like to just delete files, but how can I delete files if I can't log in? (Sorry...I'm so NOT a tech person!) :)

so I went to my hosting support and they showed me how to delete files and I deleted a ton...like 3 years worth. Still can't log in. Do I need to wait, or should it happen immediately that it has updated?

It may depend on how your host updates the amount of space used. Is it just refreshing the page or does it say that information is incorrect when you try to log in?

Hi Tim,
Thank you again for this great update!
Just a small request: is it possible to combine the "welcome email" aka " New Account - Admin Created - Create Password" to invite a customer to set their password, with the "gallery owner email"? I tried to use " [LINK_TO_CREATE_PASSWORD]Click here to create your password[/LINK]. " for the gallery owner email, but it doesn't work.
Would be great that is possible.

User Experience would be super easy: Admin creates a new User -> Upload Pictures to a Gallery -> set the new User as Gallery Owner -> sending the gallery owner welcome email with all infos and also to set his own password.

Try re-uploading the files again. You probably have some files in the wrong folders.
https://www.picturespro.com/sytist-manual/installation/upgrading/

Upload the contents of the sytist_UPGRADE_files into your shop folder (that contain the Sytist files) overwriting the existing one.

And see in my first post in this thread about the auto update not working.
