Newbie Question Re: Setting Up The Photocart & Included Items

Hi there, we're currently on the 7 day trail of Sytist to explore the photocart for our studio. I was hoping some of you could help me out. I've figured out the specifics for our dance shools, but for our regular portrait clients I'm running into some stumbling blocks.. I’m not sure if the answer is staring me in the face since I’m still trying to wrap my head around exactly how the photocart works, but I’m having trouble figuring out how to set up the following:

Our sessions almost all come with included products (prints, canvases, collages etc) I need to be able to :
1. Have $0 included items in a client’s gallery when they log in to so they can select their included items & images
2. Have these included items be different depending on the session type. We have around 30+ different package iterations since we shoot everything from headshots to newborns.
3. Some packages have either/or options (choose between an 11x14 canvas or a collage for example). This requires the ability for a client to choose their option as well as have the image requirements change based on their choice. (a canvas only requires 1 image whereas a collage requires 8 for example)

Can anyone shed some light on this? I’ve been playing with pre-sell packages, but I need the client to be able to choose which either/or option that want once they have their gallery, not me choose it beforehand (not even sure I can do this either?)

Any help is appreciated!

(examples of included items in packages if this helps:
//
35 high res files
5x7 album
11x14 canvas or custom plaque collage
2 8x10 prints
2 5x7 prints
//
25 high res files
11x14 canvas or custom plaque collage
2 8x10 prints
2 5x7 prints
//
20 high res files
11x14 canvas or custom plaque collage
8x10 print
//
10 high res files
8x10 print)
//
etc etc etc)

For package included items, I create a collection and then create a print credit for the client. If they have a choice, you can create the option.

Unfortunately their choice dictates the amount of images chosen (canvas = 1 image, collage = 8). I tried nesting a collection within another collection so that I can have the " This option will determine how many photos are to be selected for this item." box checked for the either/or options but I can't get that to work (just tells me the package is already complete, 0/0 images chosen) once the either/or collection is nested into another collection (which is then made into a print credit)

I also tried adding each as an individual print credit (For example: one print credit for 20 high res files, one PC for 11x14 canvas or custom plaque collage, one PC for 8x10 print to get around this, but it makes me choose which option at the time of redeeming the code. I want the client to be able to log into their gallery and not have to redeem the code themselves. And if clients HAVE to redeem the code themselves I don't want them to have to redeem 3+ different codes just so that I can get an either/or choice in there.

Another option would be to have $0 products in their gallery under an "Included items" header but that means that I would have to have a different price list for EACH package (30+) which is also not ideal.

You would use print credits for something like this
https://www.picturespro.com/sytist-manual/photo-products/print-credits/

And you can have a collection include other collections.

However the problem will be with the 11x14 canvas or custom plaque collage. They won't have the option to choose between the 2 with the print credit.

Your best bet would for them to determine which they would want at the session (showing them the 2 different products) and create a collection/print credit based on their decision.
