Godaddy Suddenly Throttling?

Suddenly I am getting I/O errors when uploading. Everything I have tried to upload has seen half the files stopped for I/O usage. This despite uploading hundreds of events and weddings over the years with no problem.

I contacted GoDaddy support and they confirmed the problem and basically said, "Oh well... try ftp!" They failed to give a reason as to why I suddenly have to add all these extra steps in order to upload.

Uploading via ftp now and we'll see how it goes but so frustrating that it suddenly stops working the same and they have no excuse as to why.

Well this is unacceptable.
So now I'm re-sizing everything to 2000 longest side and seeing how that works.
But, I have clients who download full-size files from Sytist so I'm looking at 30-60 minute upload times now?

Update:
Sized everything to 2000 on the longest side. Upload went smoothly for about 45 files and then everything was getting rejected. Started again at 95, went for about 50 files and then rejection again.

This is the reason why I left godaddy. I would run into this problem all the time and wasted a lot of my time. I switch to Saratogahosting and all my problems went away. Servers are fast and I’m happy with everything.

Booray,
the same problem happened to me , and it was the reason I left them for Siteground.
Suddenly they changed, without notice my php.ini file with new settings, where they placed as limit of 30 as maximum number of uploading file simultaneously.(So I got the I/O error)
When I called them they said that with 30 € I will have the right to change 3 parameters, like the a.m. mentioned, and as example the maximum post size and they will do it for me.
They also told me that in any case I could have them modified by myself for free if I know how to deal with SSH.
I moved.

Godaddy hosting is so hit and miss. In the upload dialog you can try the throttle option which adds a pause between uploads, but don't know if it will help with that.

I can also vouch for saratogahosting.com

Where is that upload dialog? Godaddy or Sytist?

The throttle option was added in Sytist verison 2.6 with the new non-flash uploader that was added. If you are not on that version then there won't be an option for it.

In theory, if you uploaded larger files then they would upload slower and might not have that error with godaddy. But then again, you have been uploading fine all this time up until recently.

Yeah, I'm uploading full-size files so that's not a fix. Maybe it's time to upgrade.
