Photo Uploads Fail

I have never had problems with uploading images to photocart or sytist. However, we are experiencing upload issues with every gallery.

Here is what we have tried.

1 - Upload with "Upload to Amazon S3" Checked
2 - Upload with "Upload to Amazon S3" UN-checked
3 - Upload via FTP - This just goes to blank page and nothing happens for hours.
4 - Upload with "select photos" Only a few are uploaded and a lot of file names but no image
5 - We use the same host we always use.

I do use a program called jpmini (file compression) that has always worked in the past. We just use it to make the files smaller for both storage and downloads.

Have you changed your watermark file? Try uploading without selecting to watermark and see if it works.

Also click on Settings in the main menu. Then under the left menu click edit config file.

Look for these 2 lines:

// ini_set("log_errors", "on");
// ini_set("error_log", $setup['path']."/errors.txt");

Remove the // from the beginning and save. That will log errors then you can check the error log.

ini_set("log_errors", "on");
ini_set("error_log", $setup['path']."/errors.txt");

I had to run some errands so I uploaded the files again without using JPEGmini. When I got back everything had worked.

I still need to do some testing to see if it was JPEGmini or something else that caused the errors. JPEGmini just saves so much file space that I hope it was not the issue. It has always worked just fine in the past. This last upload of 300 images saved over 1gb and print quality is 100% the same. So that just makes it easier all the way around.

Guess this is on hold until I pin point the true cause.

Tim,

I sent an email with the errors.txt file for this issue. I was trying to upload 20 images. It created 20 filenames which was correct but only 2 of them contained images. The other 18 just had small squares.

No watermarks and no logo's applied.

Moved to S3 was checked. However, un-checking had no effect on previous attempts.

All images were compressed with JPEGmini.

I see this error: PHP Warning: imagecreatefromjpeg(): Filename cannot be empty

If I remember correctly, this can be caused by a missing or full temp directory on the server. You should contact your host and have them check that.
