Attention

If your Photo Cart is suddenly getting a 500 error or only displaying a blank page then you or your hosting company has updated the PHP (programming language) to PHP 7 which Photo Cart is not compatible with (and will not be compatible with) mainly because of the removal of the my_sql functions which are replaced with my_sqli functions.

You would need to have the PHP version downgraded to 5.6 in order for Photo Cart to work. If downgrading the PHP doesn't work then you may have to update Photo Cart to the last version of 7. Download Photo Cart 7 upgrade files. Upgrade instructions.

Photo Cart was retired in 2015. Check out Sytist.

I Get A Fatal Error Or Blank Page When Trying To Process Uploaded Photos

This means the images you are trying to upload or process are too large for the server to handle. You should reduce the size of the images before uploading. There is also an uploader program called Dave's Uploader for Photo Cart that makes uploading images super easy!

You can also try to increase the PHP memory limit to allow for larger images to be process. To do so:

Download your setup.php file from your Photo Cart folder on your website to your computer. Open in a text editing program like notepad. (don't use word)

On any blank line , add the following line:

ini_set('memory_limit', '512M');

Save and re-upload to your Photo Cart folder on your website overwriting the existing one.

Oh I guess you're saying you can set it to 128M in the setup.php file. Sorry my brain didn't see that the first time.

I'm getting all kinds of warnings now and images are uploading blank. My setup.php memory limit is set to 128M. Is this related or a different issue? I attached a screen capture of the messages I get on FTP processing.

What is the error message? I don't see a screen shot here.

I'm confused by the option to upload photo just below the "add reply" button. It never seems to show up on my posts.

Warning: imagecreatefromjpeg() [function.imagecreatefromjpg]: gd-jpg, libjpeg:recoverable error: Corrupt JPEG data: premature end of data segment in (pathto)/admin/ftp_process.php on line 383
Warning: imagecreatefromjpeg() [function.imagecreatefromjpg]: '(path to)/ClausonSnow_146_J.JPG' is not a valid JPEG file in (path to)ftp_process.php on line 383
Warning: imagesx(): supplied argument is not a valid image resource in (path to)/ftp_process.php on line 384
(Same for imagesy(), imagejpeg() and imagedestroy())
...and tons more lines like this.

Those errors mean that the photos you have uploaded are corrupted. I suspect you are out of space on your hosting account or the server it running out of space. You should check the space availability with your hosting.

Ok thanks! I was concerned about that already so I'll check into it.

So server space wasn't the issue. And we've tried re-exporting all the files from several shoots which are all having the same issue. But that hasn't helped. Any other thoughts?

The files range from 2-9MB each which we need for "original" quality downloads. Our hosting is unlimited space.

For some reason your photos are getting corrupted during upload. Try uploading smaller photos and see if they process.

Also notice after you FTP upload the larger photos if they all have the exact same file size. That would indicate a problem with the server or the FTP program.

And I should ask, have you previously been able to successfully upload photos without issues?

Yes we haven't had an issue until now. And I think I figured out that it's our FTP client which was never a problem before. I tried uploading once from Dreamweaver's built-in FTP client and there were no errors. So I'll continue to do it that way for now. Thanks!

I guess I'm really struggling - Where do I go to "download my setup.php"? I've looked all over photocart and bluehost.

You would to FTP to your site and go into the public_html folder then your Photo Cart folder and the file will be there. Or log into your blue host hosting control panel and use the file manager.
