Attention

If your Photo Cart is suddenly getting a 500 error or only displaying a blank page then you or your hosting company has updated the PHP (programming language) to PHP 7 which Photo Cart is not compatible with (and will not be compatible with) mainly because of the removal of the my_sql functions which are replaced with my_sqli functions.

You would need to have the PHP version downgraded to 5.6 in order for Photo Cart to work. If downgrading the PHP doesn't work then you may have to update Photo Cart to the last version of 7. Download Photo Cart 7 upgrade files. Upgrade instructions.

Photo Cart was retired in 2015. Check out Sytist.

My hosting company recently upgraded servers to a new host and I was required to change the DNS records. After the change, Photocart will no longer load on my site. I get the error message:

Unable to connect to the databaseAccess denied for user 'dena_picspro'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

Any ideas what might be causing this?

There are steps to take to move Photo Cart to a new host ... including export / importing the database and updating the setup.php file with the new database info. See this:

Thanks Tim. But my site has already been moved to the new host. How would I download it from the old host at this point?

Also, my photocart database is still in my new cpanel. I assume my hosting company transferred it for me.

Then you need to edit the setup.php file inside your Photo Cart through the file manager in your hosting control panel and update it with the new database information (database name, username and password).

That finally made it work....almost. Photocart will load now, but something isn't right. I think you will be able to see that its not loading correctly just by visiting the link www.denaehutsonphotography.com/clients. On the admin side, everything seemed to be normal when I first logged in, but I tried to create a gallery and I get this error:

/photos : Wrong path.

Thanks again for your help, Tim!

I have also contacted my hosting company and this is the reply I got:

I would recommend leaving the database host as localhost. That is not the issue. As far as I can tell the cart connects fine to the database. Your files may need to be updated. When I check the error log I see:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error)
http://www.denaehutsonphotography.com/clients/pc_style2.php?csst=2&ipad=&mobile=&wbg=&pc_included=

Please have your cart vendor assist you with updating the cart to the latest version. You can also ask them to specifically address the error above.

My husband finally figured this out for me. I had accidentally deleted a / when I edited the username and password on the setup file.

Thanks again!
