Upload Replacement File On Orders With Different Filenames?

Hi Tim.

I have investigated changing my working methods for the forthcoming term for more efficiency and I have a few questions.

I have read

https://www.picturespro.com/sytist-manual/articles/replacing-photos/

1. I like the changes that allow bulk email notifications that downloads are now ready for customers. However, how can I bulk upload a 'replacement' file for digital image orders, even if that file has a different filename? The different filename and extension is necessary because the gallery uses lo-res green screen .png images and the purchased images are full res .jpgs with their background of choice applied - e.g. order image of xxx123-passcode-.png would become purchased image of xxx123-passcode-background.jpg.

Ideally, I would like to leave the original watermarked and Lo-Res transparent .png in the gallery for further possible purchase and only allow customers access to their purchased Hi-Res digital image through their 'My Downloads' section of their accounts. But I can't see how I can assign differently filenamed images to an order and account. Is this possible to do in bulk or does it have to be done one at a time?

Up until now, I have always emailed and attached the purchased images directly to the customer outside of Sytist. Very inefficient. I can't upload full-res .pngs and rely on the server to create overlaid .jpgs as images are retouched after purchase and I doubt my server would take it anyway.

2. I have had a few people ask why their 'favourite' images gallery has the option to change backgrounds. I have a sample account and that too shows that 'My Favourites' gallery should not have a background choice box available as all images are jpg, but it does. Any ideas how I can change this so that favourite images in their favourites gallery only show the jpg with background of their choice already applied?

Thanks Tim, as always. Very grateful for your ongoing efforts.

1) If the photos don't have the same file name then your only option is to replace them individually on each order.

2) They do save to favorites with the selected background. I'll look into the background option in Favorites,

Thanks Tim.

If the favourite gallery images all have their backgrounds pre-applied, then the background switcher in the favourites gallery is redundant.

Sorry Tim, have a follow up.

So, if the files that a customer has purchased are uploaded via the replacement option in order window, and even though they have a different name (and extension) to the the preview images on the server, purchased downloads will only be available in their 'My account >> My downloads' section? They can still view the original preview image and order it again?

If so, that will suit me. I have lost count of the many calls this year from hotmail (esp) customers that they never received their emails with large attachments, even though the google workspace mailbox is setup with full dkim and spf records.

Yes that is correct.
