Hello,
When I create a database backup the file is never displayed in the admin window despite saying it completed successfully.

If you are getting a message that backups are failing or you don't see a backup file, then your hosting company probably has the PHP system function disabled. And sometimes it just won't work on certain server environments. If this is the case, contact your hosting company and make sure they are making regular backups of your website.

The PHP system function system() . If disabled it won't work. And in some cases it just won't work for a reason I do not know.
