Failed Photo Downloads

I'm trying to set up a gallery with free downloads. The download button appears, but I cannot get any files out of it.
I have it set up for two sizes (original 5472px and small 1500px).
When I save the original, it will not save a file to my computer and says "Failed - Network Error" on my browser.
When I save the small, a file downloads but says the format is not supported or the file is corrupted when I try to open it.

I feel like a bit of an idiot because I figured out my problem! I'm posting it here in case this helps anyone else :)

Hi, I am getting a similar message (the file is not supported or corrupted) when I try to download a file. 'Discard original photo files' is not selected as far as I can tell. What else could be the issue? Not sure if this is relevant, I just upgraded to the latest version 4.2.0.
