Mail And Gmail Problem

Hello everybody.
I recently noticed some anomalies that I couldn't answer because they didn't happen to everyone.
some people do not receive the e-mail to confirm the e-mail needed to create an account, other people did not receive e-mails that I sent them via the preset e-mails.

talking to a customer we were able to understand that the emails he did not receive ended up in the "promotions" box of gmail.
I'll explain better, it's not spam, but depending on the visual interface choices you choose on gmail, they are divided into - main - social - promotions - people only look at the main tab, but the emails (some or all I don't know) they are read and diverted into promotions.
Does it only happen to me?

thanks and hello to tt

I don't know why it would do that. More to do with your domain & hosting than Sytist. You may have better results using the SMPT PHPMailer

Your issue is that other hosts are identifying your emails as spam or some level of spam.

Best way around this is DKIM keys but sytist doesn't support this, so the next best thing (and usually very effective) is to edit your DNS to identify to mail servers which hosts are trusted mail hosts to use your domain. That way when your emails are received, the server (in this case google) will look at the domain in the email and where it came from, and see if its on the list of hosts allowed to send emails (via your DNS).

Update you SPF information in your domains DNS. This is host dependent, but as a tip for gmail, google just loves to see itself referenced in your SPF so add an entry for them as well. This makes it less secure, but my email always appear in gmails primary folders since doing that.

You'll also need to switch to SMTP for this to work.

Tim knows all this as I asked him about DKIM keys before, but he probably doesn't want to get caught up with hosts which are all different and outside of his control.

Thanks

- thank you very much elisabetta, in the next few days I will try to configure an SPF in my hosting.

- thanks also to you tim for the usual presence and support. you were wondering why I use php mail instead of smtpmail. the answer is that with stmpmail I receive a series of errors from sytist that I am attaching to you.
obviously user and pw are correct but I read from sytist that they are wrong

if it can be useful, I use the Google Workspace service, to use the mail .... @ domainname.com as if it were a gmail.
when i did the tests with smtp, i received various notifications on smartphones and pc in which google tells me that an unsafe program was trying to send mail and blocked it. he asked me if it was me I said yes, but nothing has changed

if I use phpmail everything works apart from a few mails that are classified as spam or promotions

if you have any suggestions , thank you

I don't know if you can still use gmail for this, but here are some instructions from 5 years back if you can:

i tried to follow that guide, but it doesn't work
two-step verification disabled, access to insecure apps enabled, but smtp sending from sytist still doesn't work.

but even if it started working I would go back to phpmail, I don't leave "unsafe apps" open and "two-step verification" disabled.

I sent the log showing sytist to my hosting and they replied like this:

"Thank you for your feedback but the logs really show that it's not our problem." Username and Password not accepted. "this really implies that our hosting contacted the SMTP server which then refused the credentials. In the logs they provide you with a link to their support https://support.google.com/mail/?p=BadCredentials
We cannot help you if you have problems with the services offered by other suppliers, you will have to contact Google support directly or a webmaster "

post their answer if it can be useful in the future.

for now I will be using phpmail
