Problem With .htaccess

My public facing site is no longer visible. The URL now expands to be the default WordPress setup/config page. To stop this being visible to visitors I've changed the names of one or two files to force an error msg instead.
It looks as though the .htaccess file was modified in the early hours of this morning. Not by me, possibly my hosting company.
As an added variable I've just changed ISPs from TalkTalk to BT Fibre on Monday.
The site admin pages are still accessible via the direct link.
Any thoughts or recommendations welcome, including what the content of the .htacc file should be. No back up copy was made it seems.

Most likely the server automatically installed wordpress and it overwrote the Sytist index.php file.
Download this zip file:
https://www.picturespro.com/sy-misc/download/Sytist-index-file.zip
Unzip it and upload the index.php file into your main website folder overwriting the existing one.
If that doesn't fix it you will need to check with your host or remove the .htaccess file.

Great stuff! Thanks Tim. We're back. Yes, I assume an automated process trampled over the index. i'll keep this one, ready for next time.
