I am trying to get the automated email part running as I'm seeing a lot of abandoned shopping carts.
The site is hosted on a dedicated server and uses plesk. I have found the part for scheduling a task, however it has a space for arguments - do I need this ??
also when it runs I get an error
/opt/plesk/php/5.6/bin/php /var/www/vhosts/ultimate-images.co.uk/httpdocs/sytist/sy-admin/sy-cron.php
PHP Notice: Undefined index: HTTP_HOST in /var/www/vhosts/ultimate-images.co.uk/httpdocs/sytist/sy-config.php on line 3

If can't get the cron job to run you may need to ask your server support what is the correct path to use. Hosts / servers have different methods which you can see some at the bottom of the page linked above.
For the third party service that link is incorrect. Should be: https://www.ultimate-images.co.uk/sytist/sy-admin/sy-cron.php

Many thanks Tim,
Server support suggested the following path -
/opt/plesk/php/5.6/bin/php /var/www/vhosts/ultimate-images.co.uk/httpdocs/sytist/sy-admin/sy-cron.php
however that resulted in the error
PHP Notice: Undefined index: HTTP_HOST in /var/www/vhosts/ultimate-images.co.uk/httpdocs/sytist/sy-config.php on line 3
which is when I switched to trying the external option as other support requests on this showed success.
It's now run successfully via the external option
Many thanks

The downside it would appear to using an external service is the emails are going to spam. My co-worker who set an account once I went over to sytist all her emails went to her inbox, however the automated shopping cart email went to her spam.
so its either using the external solution, or the sending of multiple emails at once

Using the external service would make no difference. They are all sent the same. Could be many going out at once. Should have 10 emails sent at a time in Settings -> Automated Emails.
Your host may be able to trace the emails and see why.
