Collection Credit Problem

I have created collections, and with each collection comes a credit of $xxx. I am testing it now, and when I add a collection to my cart (with a $300 credit), and then I add additional products, when I go to check out, the $300 isn't coming off my order.
Am I not understanding how these credits work? I want clients to be able to order a collection that includes $xxx of credit towards additional purchases.

I just tested doing that and works for me. It doesn't show in the totals on the left but the total does include the deduction of the credit (but not the package itself). Does the total match up with the credit amount?

Hi Tim....thank you, I am an idiot and didn't do my math correctly :) It is working.
However I am seeing a new problem.
So my collection was $575. That included a $300 credit. I added a 24x36 wall portrait that cost $425. So my total was $1000, minus the $300 credit, so I should have to pay $700. That worked.
But when it calculated tax, it only calculated tax on $885. The only thing I can think of is that the wall portrait had a base price of $115 (for an 11x14) and to upgrade to the 24x36 was an additional $310. So it is like it isn't calculating tax on the base price. When I go into that product, I have taxable clicked.
