We are going to try and use Amazon S3 for our photos. I read the instructions to create the s3 account. The only think I am unsure of is wether or not I need to create a specific bucket for each "gallery" I want to host on my website?

You only create 1 bucket, when ever you upload it creates a folder associated with each gallery. Just make sure that you use Signature Version 2, Version 4 only will not work.

Thanks Vance. I’m pretty sure I have it set up correctly then, I uploaded our horse show from yesterday through ftp to our site at www.studio316photography.com and once it was done I processed the photos. I didn’t notice if they went to Amazon. Isn’t it automatic if I entered the security details? Looks like each gallery has a button to send to Amazon s3.

prior to uploading make sure move to s3 now is checked see pic 1, then once upload is complete you will see a box below the thumb nail, when you hover over it it will say hosted on s3, if some reason s3 is not checked you can always move them to s3 via the move to s3 button. see photo2
