Manually Create An Order

HI Tim,

Would it be possible for the Admin to manually create an order for a client. I occasionally get clients who are unable to create an order on-line or they phone in an order etc etc.

As I am now using Sytist as part of my tracking system, it would be great to be able to create orders for clients. I know I can create an invoice but I cannot include individual image products in the invoice and the invoice does not get a sequential number that is part of the order sequence.

Best regards

Hi Eoin, yes two ways to do that once they have made an account. Once they have an account you can create an invoice from admin (beware it does not have shipping box yet) the second is you can log in as them and create the order as if you were the customer.

Vance,

The invoice route does not allow me pick individual images and sizes etc.

Ref logging on as them. How do I do this without changing their password? I don't think I can see a client's password, can I?

When you click on people in the admin, go to their account and under the actions drop down you will see log in. This will log you in as them, then place the order and make sure you log out of the site.

Vance,

I have added an offline payment option to the site.

Unfortunately, this will be available on all pricelists but I have put a note that off-line payment is only by pre-arrangement.

If you have a more elegant solution, I would be very interested.

If you have the clients credit card information you can go through the payment process, when you are logged in as the client, to complete the order.
Or, you can login as the client and create the order and leave it in their shopping cart. Then tell the client to login and finish the payment process.

Eoin, I gave you the elegant solutions for placing the order however the payment must be made by the client. In your case i would select "send check". once the order is placed they will be sent an email with the option to pay now (Via online) or they may send a check. Sytist does not hold financial information, so if you wanted to process that for them you would need that information. If you invoice them they will have the same options, so it will depend on the order you are trying to fulfill.

Forgot to say once you have put the items in a shopping cart then just log out and have you customer login to complete the payment.

Basically do what is suggested here. Log in as the customer to add the products to the cart.

You can enable the pay offline option so you can place the order, then turn that option back off when you are done.

Then you can send them the order for them to pay (view the order in the admin and then email invoice/order option).

Note though they will receive the order confirmation email when you place the order (new pending order email).

Thank you Tim, Vance and Thomas,
I have followed all your advice, including your refinement Tim of turning off the offline payment option when I do not need it.

Best regards
