Hi Tim
What is the most efficient way to send orders (file names) to Lightroom so I can export files to my photo lab.

When viewing an order in the admin, click the Manage Photos tab. There you can export the file names.
You can also batch select orders and use the Photo Product Export. You may need to change that export settings so it is only exporting file names.

I export the filenames taking away the file extension, then I select all of them, copy them to clipboard and then paste in the "Search" field of Lightroom with the options of the two dropdown fields "File name" "Contains".

Hey Marco,
Thank you for this. I have tried this in the past and worked. Now it only see the first file name of the list i copy into the search field in Lightroom. There must be a faster way of doing this. I have 100s of orders and this will take forever.

There has to be a more efficient way of doing this. This will take so long to export hundreds of jobs.

Hi Thomas, I use this plugin. You give it a txt file and it will "mark" the files in the file. It becomes a an attribute you can filter by. It's a bit finicky, but when you get it working its fantastic.

Hey Melissa,
Thank you for this. This will not work for individual orders.
I am very frustrated with Sytist. Getting orders out of Sytist and into a Lightroom should be the very first option developed. I have been spending hours getting orders out of Sytist.

I'm not quite sure what you mean that it won't work for individual orders? I use it all the time for individual orders. It's one extra step but pretty fast. You just select a different txt file to use for marking orders. I realize everyones business process is so different. That's part of the challenge for Tim when it comes to things like this. It's a different priority and don't differently by everyone. I've been in his shoes before. I would love to see some integration here too, but I'm sure that will happen in time.

The reason it is only finding the first filename is because sytist is exporting the orders as a csv file format, which places hard carriage returns at the end of each line, thus excluding second and subsequent filenames from your lightroom search.
You could remove the carriage returns at the end of each line manually one by one or by using a decent text editor like notepad++ to find/replace these CR LF characters with spaces. Search for
{backslash}r{backslash}n
and replace with spaces. You must use extended search mode to find the special characters.
Edit - forum doesn't allow backslash characters so they aren't showing above. Grrrr. Hope it makes sense to you. See images below.
If we had the option of exporting only filenames separated by commas under the Photo Product Export For Selected Orders, then lightroom would recognise all exported filenames correctly.

The workflow I've developed goes like this:
Go into the order, and change it's status, then print the packing slip (using an integrated address label). Then go to manage photos.
I use the print to screen option, and leave the extension (ie the defaults). I then select all the filenames, then paste those into the search box in Lightroom - no manipulation at all. Finally I select all the images found and add to the target collection.
Then onto the next order. It's quite quick using the keyboard for many of the operations. I can then work with the target collection, and I already have mailing labels ready to go.
