why is there a 9px width on the right side of all full width objects? It looks funny on a mobile device

It's to accomodate the scroll bar. VW doesn't take into account the scroll bar.
If you want it to change it you can add it to your additional CSS of your theme
@media (max-width: 800px) {
.width100vw { border:0; width: calc(100VW - 9px); left: 0; margin-left: calc(-50vw + 50%); position: relative; }
}
