Hi Tim.
I'm starting this thread again. I'm not a programmer, but a photographer. I can't for the likes of me figure out what is causing Chrome to flag up my site as 'insecure' even though I have a brand new SSL certificate installed.
In the Chrome console I'm seeing that there is a problem with the Facebook plugin within Sytist and this may be the cause of the problem. Otherwise, I haven't a clue what may be causing it. Please advise!

You would need to use this link:
https://www.fennphotography.co.uk
Notice the s in https which makes it the secure page.
Here is an article on forcing your site to use httpS all the time:

Few weeks ago,I reported the same problem, and I acted as written in the instruction.The problem arise only with Chrome and if a customer type www.marcocappalunga.com instead of https://marcocappalunga.com or http://marcocappalunga.com
Siteground,my host was not able to sort it out so maybe I'll change in Google webmaster tools what comes out in the search engines when a customer type my name, because there appears the www version

I appreciate that Tim, but I've got a tonne of stationary material all with my www address on, and without the https bit at the front. Most people only type in the www bit, and as a result Chrome (I hate Chrome!) flags up this damn message. I'll read the link you supplied in the hope that I can always redirect straight to https instead of just www.
Thanks.
Tom
Thanks.

Forcing the httpS as described in that article, no matter which they type in, it will direct them (automatically, they won't notice really) to https://www.fennphotography.co.uk
So
www.fennphotography.co.uk -> https://www.fennphotography.co.uk
fennphotography.co.uk -> https://www.fennphotography.co.uk
http://www.fennphotography.co.uk -> https://www.fennphotography.co.uk
So
www.fennphotography.co.uk -> https://www.fennphotography.co.uk
fennphotography.co.uk -> https://www.fennphotography.co.uk
http://www.fennphotography.co.uk -> https://www.fennphotography.co.uk

Hi Tim
Tried that. But it doesn't work. Instead when I try to load the page I get this:
This page isn’t working
www.fennphotography.co.uk redirected you too many times.
Try clearing your cookies.
ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS
Any ideas to what next?

I got this:
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(fennphotography.co.uk)$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.%1/$1 [R=301,L]
And changed it as suggested to this in the htaccess file:
RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://www.fennphotography.co.uk/$1 [R,L]
And in the SY-config file via Settings panel put an s on the end of http.
No joy.

'The problem arise only with Chrome and if a customer type'
Nor Marco can I get your site (or mine) to work with Opera. Your page will load fine with Opera, but there is no secure padlock icon on your site. It won't load at all using Chrome. This is simply unacceptable. I know just how fickle some clients can be and having problems like this is no help at all. This symbol should appear without any problem on *any* browser.

Hi Marco. No. It's not working at all right now as Tim sent me some new code, but it hasn't fixed the problem. I need to open up the server again, and re-jig the code to get it back to how it was, albeit without the green padlock. :(

I put this for my htaccess file and everything has worked fine since. Don't change a thing below.
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]

Unfortunately the same file didn't work for me Brian, and I had to change it all back again. But oddly after I did, it then worked. Completely stumped to why that happened. Anyway, I've been talking with Tim via email and he now has direct control over my ftp (as well as some unique server sabotage opportunities- so I take back anything I said earlier...! )
