Has Anyone Ever Dealt With Bludomain?

I need help! I have had my website with BluDomain for years. Every single year they let my domain and hosting cancel without ever sending me an invoice (it's always right at the end of the year, during the holidays). I emailed them requesting an invoice so that it would not happen, they never replied, and my website went down...again. I am in the process of switching over my hosting to another company but BluDomain will not change the ownership of my domain to me (dumb me never knew that it was in their name to begin with). I have contacted them multiple times but they refuse to reply. I contacted GoDaddy, who BD has my domain with, and they denied switching it over to me because BD denied it...even though I sent GD my business info showing that it is actually my domain and not BD's. They said I could fight it through ICANN. Has anyone ever done this? Any suggestions on how to go about getting my domain back in my name? BluDomain is basically holding my domain hostage.

I don't have an answer, but I would suggest posting on their facebook page. It seems they are active there.

Do they have you on an unpaid open invoice? If so, when paid they would release the domain name. I've never heard of a company holding a domain but for that reason. Also, generally, once ask for it to transfer, I read that the process can take 3-7 days for it active on the new host.

Thanks Tim! I will post on their page but I bet they delete it.

M. Davis ~ They will not reply to me. I have paid for my domain but they will not reply to my messages about transferring it over to me. I don't know why they had it in their name to begin with.

1. File theft by deception 'criminal' report with your local police and the police where BD is located. You have paid for the URL. It belongs to you!

2. Go online, file a complaint with your state attorney general and AG in State were BD is located.

Doing both will get the ball rolling quicker than anything.

Thank you for the advice!! I filed a report with GoDaddy since that is who BD has the domain through and they will not do anything about it because BD denied transferring it over to me. GD sent me a link where I could file a dispute, but it will cost me $1,300!! I wrote a demand letter today that I'm going to send certified mail to BD demanding they turn it over or I will dispute it. I need to do what you said...maybe that will be faster/cheaper!

Alright, I just filed a complaint with the Colorado and the Texas Attorney Generals. I emailed Aundrea at BD. We'll see if this gets her moving! Thanks again for the advice!

Online complaint forms are good for the AG office complaints.
Any time proof of mailing is needed use certified mail with a tracking number to show the document arrived in the mail. Some use a USPS green card for signature but as long as you have a USPS document showing it arrived (online tracking confirmation) to the recipient that is sufficient.

So I filled out the complaint forms for both Tx and Co. I emailed Aundrea at BD back and told her. She immediately replied accusing me of not following directions and sent me the info that I needed. Amazing how fast she replied! LOL I've been requesting this info twice a day for the past 3 days with no reply from her. I sent that email and she immediately replied. So glad to be done with BD!! Thank you for your help!

Yes. I knew it would work!
Remember it works for similar other situations when you are being ignored.
I wouldn't notice the AG's office the issue has been resolved until the AG responds. Make BD answer the complaint. You will get a written confirmation from both AG offices in about 7 days. At that point, let the AG's know it's resolved.
The AG will shut down companies doing business like that if there are enough complaints.
What your doing is helping others not be in the same situation.
Best of luck!

I am in the exact same situation. My domain expired on 2/8 but didn't get deactivated until 2/13. I emailed BD support and asked them to send me a renewal invoice. I emailed them at 4pm on 2/13. Aundrea responded at 1:14 am EST. I paid the invoice at 6 am est on 2/14. I emailed back on my support ticket letting them know the invoice was paid. I have created multiple support tickets and sent emails to them. They have not responded at all. I also learned my domain is registered in their name and not mine. I have paid for it since 2011. I submitted complaints with icann and both AG in my state and in CO. I alerted Aundrea of this yesterday on 2/15 around 2pm or so and still haven't heard anything. I have a feeling she will not respond at all and I am left with no website or domain name.

Best to be responsible and keep track yourself when payments are due and pay on time, that prevents these situations.
Also, keep in mind online payments generally take 48 hours to clear.
That said, the AG can shut them down if you have paid and they are holding your URL hostage.
It is premature at this point, but you could also file a criminal complaint called 'theft by deception' with your local police and/or the police where BD is located. I'd wait a week or so.
The argument - could be a valid one - you hadn't timely paid the invoice and are and have breached any agreement. Thus, the company refuses business with you.
Generally, deactivation is not the first step, but the last, when there is non-payment.

sadly, non-payment isn't the issue it was paid immediately when the invoice was sent. You can't send them money without an invoice of which they didn't send to me. My situation is the same as the original posters in that they refuse to communicate. Getting the invoice was the first battle.

Those are facts you should present in your complaints. I suspect you will have it resolved by first of the week.
If not, proceed with theft by deception charges.
I'd email them today and tell them time is of the essence that they respond and tell them you will be filing criminal charges if no response by Tuesday. But if you tell them you will do that, you must do it!
Update here how it goes!

Thanks I'll be sure to post if they respond. We shall see. I don't understand how they can do business like this. It wasn't always like this. I have been with them for years and always got issues resolved right away within a matter of hours. But that was when they had live chat and it appears they have done away with that even though it states it is still active. Their hours are out of date too. I was told the original owner Harold is not longer involved. Maybe that is part of the issue. I am not sure, but I am hoping this gets resolved quickly. Thank you for the advice on this thread. hope it helps others in this situation.

Lynette, I am so glad you got it up and running! Yes, take your stuff and run!! I paid Dave at Saratoga to switch all of my stuff over. He was amazing....worked weekends and even New Years Eve helping me. I emailed the AG in CO and in my state to file a complaint. When I told Aundrea that, she replied immediately and blamed me for not communicating with her. That woman is crazy! I just got a reply from my AG yesterday saying that my case is being closed because they did not get any replies from BD. That kind of surprised me...what good does it do a consumer if they just close your case because the person doesn't reply? Not that it affects me any more but that seems illogical.

Cyndi, It is state law dependent, but generally the AG in the state where the company is located has the jurisdiction. So, I wouldn't be too concerned if your state closed it.

That makes sense. Funny thing is...I never heard from the CO AG.
