Offer Single Download Options Without Use Of Collections

I want to offer a special customer deal for a single event the customer can simply add a digital file to the shopping cart and then at the end, check out and download the files. Do I need to use collections? This seems overly complicated. When i try to create a product they are not appearing unless I put the product type download into a collection? ???

All you have to do is add your download product to the price list.

If you have added the download product to the price list, and that price list is assigned to the gallery and you don't see it being available, then when uploading photos, you probably selected to discard original file which means there is no file to create a download.

Or you have your download product max pixels set larger than the original files you uploaded. In that case, set the max pixels size to 0.
