Duplicate Client Emails

The system is now letting me create accounts with the same email that is in the system already. This causes the account not to be able to be accessed. Not sure if it has to do with the last update but it has caused some issues during my event with not being able to get into accounts.

Hope this can be fixed

I am unable to duplicate this. Sytist does check for existing email addresses when an account is created. Are you able to duplicate being able to create an account with an email address that already exists and if so, what are the exact steps?

I have no idea why it was letting us duplicate addresses. Also today the system would not allow us to log into any account for a while. Including my own. I was only able to log in through the admin. On top of that i had a client who's gallery was attached but when logged in they could not view it. But again when logging in from the admin I could see the gallery.

I'm not sure whats going on but it has really put a monkey wrench in my events. I am scrambling trying to troubleshoot all this and at the same time considering if i need to find another solution to do this.

Tim, If there is something you can do to help let me know, I will even pay you for your time if there is something we can work on to fix this going forward. This is my biggest money maker of the year and i can't afford to lose clients and have negative reviews due to site failure.

Thanks

Also I'm not sure if it matters or it's been tested but I have close to 5000 registered clients on my site. Not that i think it matters but we had a huge uptick in new accounts this year so i didnt know if it could have an effect.

Are the duplicate emails addresses / accounts are from when YOU create an account for a client in the admin, or when they create an account?

Your other issues sound like you might be running out of space on your hosting.

my hosting is unlimited space so it may slow down with the volume it isn't running out. The accounts are being created in the admin by my employees. In the past if there was a duplicate i would get an error message as soon as i entered it. Now it was allowing it for some reason. The logging in issue today was new. yesterday it was because of the duplicates, today we verified they were the only one's and again i couldn't even log into mine. I could make room in my system by deleting galleries but people have orders on them with digital images and if I delete the galleries i delete their pictures.

Just to add to this. the attached galleries that aren't showing up automatically are accessible with the gallery password. Just not showing up that they are attached

I just put out an update that will fix the accounts and existing emails. For logging in, I was able to log in a couple times as a customer with no problem.

If you have already logged into the admin today and don’t have an update notice on the admin home page, you can have Sytist check for an update again by clicking Settings in the main menu in the admin.

Then scroll down and below the left menu, click MySQL query.

Copy the following line of code, paste it in the query box and click run.

UPDATE ms_history SET upgrade_check='';

Then return to your admin home page.

Yeah I’m not sure what happened with logging in. It was locked up and then suddenly started working again. We didn’t have an issue with that the rest of the day. Had a couple more accounts that were not showing attached galleries but had them enter the gallery password and that got them in.

I do hope you can find a solution for deleting galleries without deleting customer orders. I have 2000 galleries to go through to delete to clean up my site.

Thanks

still having issues with not being able to see attached galleries when clicking my photos. Gallery password lets you in but you can't see it initially

You mean as a customer that have galleries assigned to their account? Does it not show them at all or show something different?

When you click the “Find my photos” it only shows the option to enter the password. Normally if they have a gallery assigned to them it shows up on the right side of that pop up window. Randomly it is not there and the photos can only be accessed by entering the password

I can't duplicate this. Galleries I have access to show on the find my photos when I am logged in. You will need to give me a password to a gallery so I can test it.

It might me tough to get you one to view. Unless i can duplicate it on my account. The ones we find have to be fixed immediately. The good news is that the password corrects it.
