Bug: 2 Bookings At The Same Time

just started working with sytist and I upgraded from Photocart specifically for the Calendar and Booking feature. Mostly I have Sports Clubs that I need to book sessions on a specific day so I was setting up Special One Day Events for each of the days, and then making the appropriate spots available on those days.
this looks great, and works fine provided that 2 or more teams do not pick the same spot at the same time. What appears to be happening is a spot is not actually removed from the calendar until the "Confirm Booking" button is pressed. Until that time another team is also free to pick that same spot. then both teams complete the bookings, and both get the same time and a confirmation to confirm it. Afterward I have to contact one or both of them and change it.
Is there a way to change this so a spot is "temporarily" removed from the calendar once it is initially picked? if the person fails to complete the booking and closes the window, just add it back in. or alternatively have a database check that if two people have the same booking time open, once the first one confirms their booking, any others that try to book the same time are checked to ensure it has not yet been booked in the meantime and if so provide an error that that time has recently been booked?
Failing that, how do others deal with this?

For the next update I will be writing some stuff to check bookings in the cart every second and if the time is booked while someone else is booking it, it will get removed.
