Using Flate Rate Coupon Over Multiple Orders

I sell pre-paid packages which include a print credit. When the customers view their gallery they can use all or some of their print credit, and any unused credit will be held over and applied to their next order(s).
Will the Flat Rate coupon work this way? ie If they have a $150 credit and only use $100 on the first order when they place another order will the remaining $50 be applied.
Or is there a different way to do what I am looking to do?

I think I figured it out...I am going to add the customer credit after they create their account.
