I"m getting a 404 page when trying to reach my install page in my subdirectory. I installed into /store. The URL in my browser is [mydomain].net/sy-admin/?installingon=temp

I've also tried .net/store/sy-admin/

What's going wrong?

Thanks!

This is usually caused by something like URL rewriting in the .htaccess file in your root / main website folder. Send me an email so I can attach you a .htaccess file to upload to the Sytist folder that will ignore the .htaccess file in the root folder.

Hi I'm having this same issue after trying a fresh install... can I get a copy of the .htaccess file too?

I'm getting 404's and 505's when finishing the install, I tried doing permissions on files one by one but the .htaccess file sounds like the right solution.
Thanks!

I don't think it is a htaccess issue. My guess you have uploaded all the files & folders from the installation files and have not uploaded the CONTENTS of the sytist_INSTALLATION_files to the server.

You should upload the contents of the sytist_INSTALLATION_files into the website folder.

If you continue to have issues, you can email me FTP access.

Hi Mr. Grissett!
Hey let me first say I'm a big fan of your product,
if you look in your CRM you'll see I've been using it since around the first release. Bravo!

I'm doing my own hosting so I installed a clean domain. photomenatural.com.
I made a fresh database, uploaded and extracted the install file to the root.
Then I used the browser to click the install.php and it works. meaning the database was accessed too.
When I click the delete install files link that cleans the install, that's when I get the 404's.

so hopefully the .htaccess file helps, it's been awhile since I installed.

Regards,
manny

Are you running wordpress on the same site? If not, the htaccess file is not going to make a difference. The htaccess file is if there was one in the root of the site using wordpress and you are installing in a sub-folder.

Program running by itself in the root without Wordpress.

Using the standard Hostgator hosting package that allows multiple domains to install, but each of my ten accounts is separate domains.

The Hosting Requirements Check script came back OK;
I'll review all the steps again and email screenshots details if I still need solutions.

Thanks again...
