Download As Zip File Error

Hi I keep receiving the following Error when myself or a client attempts to download their purchases as a zip file.
"Request Timeout
This request takes too long to process, it is timed out by the server. If it should not be timed out, please contact administrator of this web site to increase 'Connection Timeout'."
I have followed the instructions here from another post:
"In the sy-inc -> store -> store_download_zip.php file (which generates the zip file), there are some ini_sets to try to increase those.
ini_set('max_execution_time',8000);
set_time_limit(50);
ini_set('memory_limit', '1024M');
You can try to edit that file and increase those values to see if it helps.
ini_set('max_execution_time',16000);
set_time_limit(100);
ini_set('memory_limit', '2048M');"
And I have changed the PHP values in cPanel as illustrated in the attached photo, but am still receiving the same error.
Your help with this is most appreciated. Thank you
KR,
Linda

You may need to reduce how many photos per zip file in Settings -> Photo Settings. The server will only be able to generate so many photos per zip depending on several different factors (server speed, cpu, memory, etc .... the photos sizes, if the photos are getting resized for the download or getting watermarked / logoed. ).
You may need to test out different amounts per zip file to see what number consistently works.

Just had now the same issue. got an 404 error if i offer full download in full-size. Is there no change to a pre-preparing of those zip-files? i was hoping to use this feature instead to send the full-size pictures to my clients over a picture-service or dropbox-solution. :-)

There is no way to change how the zip files are created. How many images that can be put in each zip file really depends on the server.
Have you tried adjusting how many images per zip file?
And are sure it is a 404 error? If so, that would indicate a file is missing.

Hi Tim.
well, i'ts a "File Not Found" message. i guess i'ts about the time to build the zip file. it just takes to long.
maybe the server is to slow, its a shared hosting.
it works, if i reduce the JPEG Quality and also set just 20 Pictures per ZIP. But to send 200 to 300 Pictures as Download with 20 Files and already reduced in quality it's not that good.

If it takes a long time then get the 404 error, then I think it is just timing out. Probably just not enough resources on the server to produce larger zip files, but I don't think you would really be able to get over 60 or so per zip on a decent server. Another option would be just to zip them on your computer then upload the zip file to the server or in Design -> Misc. Images & Files then send the link to the client.
