Selling Yearbooks With Sytist

I want to set it up to sell yearbooks to my schools. What I would like is to have each school have a different password or access code. When a parent enters in the code it would show them the price of their yearbook and then they would be able to order and pay. Is that possible? Would I set up a 'Store' section?

Yes you can create a store section and create the year book as a product. You can also set a password for that product.

Forgot to ask, is there a way to have parents fill out who their child is and what grade? And then run a report that I can give to the school, this way I know who gets the yearbook.

When editing the store product / year book, click Options and you can create required options for them to enter in the child's name and select grade.

THanks again. Then what report can I run to get the info that I've entered in Options?

There isn't a report you can run based on options. You will have to just look at the orders.

Just checking in to see if with the updates, is there a way to run a report that would have the 'option' info in it?

@Steve Thats how I created mine for our years book offerings to our schools. I am a Heavy SQL Developer and you can get those reports Via MYSQL if you know how to write code. I am able to write custom ccde reports for our yearbook products. Here is a snippet of the Statment that you need to write. Hope this was helpful!

Arron, I have no idea how to do code but I'll show this to my high school senior son who is smart about code, etc and see if he can help me.

I have 7 schools that do a yearbook and I collect money online. My other schools either I don't do the yearbook or we don't do online sales for them. Do you offer the service of setting this up for people?

We do charge setup fee, but the customer will never see it. Its hidden in the Yearbook Price per book.

@Aaron is there a way you can dumb down that code for me? I'm a pretty smart engineer but I don't code. I'm really interested in this type of function but don't know what to do with it. I really would like the custom fields to show up in my reports.

@Scott I updated the thread with a little more detail. I would also hit youtube: how to connect to my cpanel mysql database remotely. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Hopefully this was helpful to you. What type of engineer are you? Civil?
