500 Internal Error When Trying To Install Sytist

I host with Godaddy.

I have done everything in the Sytist Installation instructions numerous times, and still have the same problem. I have spoken with Godaddy and had them delete everything on my hosting side so I can start from scratch, yet again.

I am installing to the root of my website.

I have downloaded and unzipped the files from Sytist.

I use Filezilla, and have logged in to my host through there, and found my public folder (httpdocs) and installed the Sytist Installation Files (the files within that folder) to the httpdocs folder on my site.

I created the SQL database.

When I go to my domain/install, I get a 500 Internal Server Error EVERY STINKING TIME. I have tried different browsers, I have restarted, I have cleared cache, I have done everything Godaddy has recommended on their end, and now they tell me it has to be somewhere on Sytist's end.

This is the error:

"Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator to inform of the time the error occurred and of anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log."

Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

A 500 error indicates a permission issue. Either the folder / file permissions changed during upload or the permission on the main folder is incorrect. Email me the link to your site along with either your hosting username and password or your FTP username and password so I can check the permissions.

I figured it out. Thank you. My server was Windows, not Linux. So I switch to Linux and everything installed fine. Thank you.

It could be several things causing that. Email me the link and FTP access so I can see.
