I know iM probably missing something here but..I have uploaded photos in the past without ticking the box to remove tags from the file so when you mouseover them and zoom it comes up with tags that I use when I catalougue them in LR. Can I get rid of it with CSS or is there a box I can tick to get rid of them now (without having to re upload) I also dont want the file name to show when they mouse over and zoom.

The following lines of code can be added to your theme in the additonal CSS section to hide parts of the hover preview photo

#photo-preview-title { display: none; } /* Hides title */
#photo-preview-caption { display: none; } /* Hides caption */
#photo-preview-filename { display: none; } /* Hides file name */
#photo-preview-keywords { display: none; } /* Hides keywords */

Does this fix still work in 2019?

It seems to be doing nothing on my site or on another Sytist user's site, so im wondering if the rules have changed :)

TIA!

What exactly are you trying to change? If it is the icons and file names under the thumbnails, those are set in the Photo Display Settings tab while in the Photos section of a gallery in the admin.

It's just on the home page apparently - if I add a gallery as a new element and fill it, all captions are kept for some reason.
I ended up going back and renaming all the photos and re-uploading as a quick fix.

The same thing happened to another user too - we were trying to work it out last night.
