Pay Now Button Linking To Paypal Still Showing For Offline Payment Methods

I've set up two offline payment methods - direct bank transfer and the UK payment service Paym. When going through the checkout, I get the choice of payment method but then on the final 'Pending order' page there is still a 'Pay Now' button in the upper-right of the screen which links to Paypal.

Surely this shouldn't be there?

The Pay Now button is there for 1) if they decide to pay online and 2) for invoices sent to customers.

Thanks Tim.

However, I can see this causing confusion. By this point the customer has already selected the payment method they want - they don't need an ambiguous choice here. I would suggest a better option would be to "go back to payment methods" or similar.

I totally agree that this can be confusing and was searching for an option to disallow.

HI,

I have got the same issue. I want to offer two "offline" payment options with one being a popular mobile payment solution for customers in Sweden.
When he customer has chosen that option, I entered a text showing the instructions for how to send the mobile payment. However, the "Pay Now" button leads to PayPal, which is confusing.
I would rather not have this at all or better even a button that they can press to confirm the payment has been made.

Any idea how to solve this?
Thanks

There is not another option. I've made a note to look into it.

How far off is a fix for this? I just spent a couple hours going in circles thinking offline payment method was not working due to that little button and if it confused me, for sure it is going to confuse the store owner as well as the clients. As it is there is no way we can use an offline payment method in conjunction with PayPal and credit card payments.

I've added an option to not display the pay now button for the next update. But if someone selects to pay offline, then changes their mind and decide to pay by credit card, they can't.

Thanks Tim, I'll look forward to the update there are many more consumers using etransfers as a payment method these days, as well as the older population distrustful of online payments we must serve as well, so we definitely need both types in place.

Thanks for addressing this so quickly Tim, really appreciate that you've included the fix in version 1.9!

I have pay with PAYPAL activated as well as CHECK and CASH as offline options.

With PAYPAL you have the option to click on the PLACE ORDER button. With the cash or check there is not option to even click PLACE ORDER.

This is a huge problem for me. Is there an easy fix? I notice this thread is quite old.

Is this someone checking out from their cart or an invoice?

I can't think of any reason for the pay offline options not showing a place order button.

But if it is an invoice there won't be a pay offline button.

It IS from the shopping cart.

I logged in as my customer and checked out as far as I could with it to test the payment options. It doesn’t have the button even though there is a space to rename it, etc. I tried renaming it and everything.

The only time it shows up is for Paypal payments.

I need to be able to have my clients “check out” when I am doing trade or they are paying in person, etc.

No. It does not.

And now that I added my SSL I am getting this 404 file not found page, ugh.

The BOTTOM BUTTON you highlighted is MISSING. I get the PAYPAL CASH CHECK but no button at the bottom that says PLACE ORDER

I thought your were in mine... but I swear for hours it wasn’t working. It just didn’t make sense. I even logged out and in. Different browsers etc. I had to call Godaddy. AGAIN. So they could fix my SSL. ARGH. I wonder if that had something to do wit it?

I don't think the SSL would have anything to do with it. Mystery.

Oh I agree! But they fixed that and suddenly all my pages I was getting a 404 error on started working and so did this on my computer. I tried three browsers and nothing worked before.

Sooooooo I’m thankful!!!!! No matter what. But especially for you, Tim!
