Workflow

Hey Tim,
I am a new customer and am very impressed with the software so far. Can you direct me in what might be the best workflow for what I am doing?

Many of my customers I am either sending a gallery of free(Paid on site) downloadable images after an event or a viewing gallery to finish their order. My question is, what is the best way to get them their photos? Would it be to create an account for them and send them a link right from the gallery admin page? OR is there a way for them to be prompted to create an account and then you would assign the gallery to them after they made an account?

Or would it make more sense to create them an account, send them an email with their login information and give them instructions on how to find their images?

Hopefully this all makes sense, I am looking for the most efficient way to get this done, any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

It depends. Are the customers having their own gallery with just their photos or is this a gallery for many people to access?

Hey Tim,
Thanks for the quick response. This would be for galleries of just their photos.

Thanks.

Then all you need to do is create their gallery and password protect it. When it is ready, click the People tab for the gallery then the Send Email tab. Enter in their email address and it will send them an email with the link and password.

For their downloads, assign a price list that includes a free download:

Then all they have to do is go to the gallery, enter in the gallery password and download the photos.

Hey Tim,
Thanks, would I just type it into the additional email addresses field?

Second Question:
If I wanted to in essence make them an account so that they would have all of their photo's year after year in their account, what would be the best way to go about doing that for a new customer?

As far as email's go, I'd love to be able to script an email like the one below, but when I do it doesn't send any of the [New_LOGIN_INFO] or [ACCOUNT LINK].

Hello [FIRST_NAME],

This is to inform you your photos are now ready to download from your recent purchase.

Please go to our website and log in and go to My Account and click on your order number to download your photos:

[ACCOUNT_LINK]

Thank you,

Yes.

For that email, you can go to Settings -> Default Emails. Create a new default email with that content.

After you have created the customer's account, click their email address you see when viewing their account, select the new default email with the select different default email option and it will popular those bracket codes.
